Preventie in het sociale domein biedt een theoretisch kader waarmee professionals preventie kunnen integreren in hun werkpraktijk.

Sociale professionals zijn geen juristen maar worden in hun werk wel geconfronteerd met problemen van cliënten waarbij juridische kennis een rol speelt. Daarnaast ligt aan de Beroepscode voor de sociaal werker een mensenrechtenperspectief ten grondslag.
