Preventie is een belangrijk onderwerp in het sociale domein. Van professionals in het sociaal domein wordt dan ook verwacht dat zij preventief kunnen denken en handelen. Preventie in het sociale domein biedt een theoretisch kader waarmee professionals preventie kunnen integreren in hun werkpraktijk.

Sociale professionals zijn geen juristen maar worden in hun werk wel geconfronteerd met problemen van cliënten waarbij juridische kennis een rol speelt.
