Cultuur en communicatie zijn zo nauw met elkaar verweven dat cultuurverschillen automatisch leiden tot verschillen in communicatie. In Culturele waarden en communicatie wordt een overzicht gegeven van actuele theorieën over cultuurverschillen en de verschillen in verbale en non-verbale communicatie die daaruit voortvloeien. Het uitgangspunt van de uitgave is een vergelijking tussen Nederland en Vlaanderen, die wel dezelfde taal maar niet dezelfde cultuur hebben.

Sociaal met taal is een beproefde, participatieve methode voor inburgering die inspeelt op thema’s, vragen, conflicten en pijnpunten die dicht bij de ervaringen en belevingswereld van de inburgeraars staan. Door middel van waardevolle gesprekken en reflectie in de groep kunnen deelnemers beter participeren in de Nederlandse maatschappij en leren ze daarnaast sneller Nederlands.

Pathways to Empowerment helps counsellors to master an attitude and acquire the competences needed to do strength-based work with clients. The chapters provide practical insights by means of case studies and quotes from clients and counsellors.
